- Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours/week\n
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week\n
- Float: May float to nearby hospitals within 20 miles as needed\n
- Scrub Color: White\n
- Charting: EPIC EMR\n
- Parking: Free in any unrestricted space\n
\n\nPCU Nurse Qualifications\n
- \n
- Minimum 18 months of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience (2 years preferred)\n
- ICU nursing experience required\n
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted)\n
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA or American Red Cross), ACLS (must have at time of submission), NIHSS (must obtain prior to start)\n
- Epic EMR experience (proficiency level 3 or 4)\n
- Familiarity with cardiac drips and advanced cardiac life support\n
- Nicotine-free (negative nicotine/cotinine drug screen required)\n
- Ability to pass EKG and Pharmacology tests during orientation (2 attempts max)\n
- First-time travel nurses welcome!\n
- All requested time off must be submitted up front\n
\n\nPCU Nurse Responsibilities\n
- \n
- Deliver high-quality patient care to PCU/Intermediate Care patients in a clinical setting\n
- Manage BiPAP and CPAP therapy for respiratory support\n
- Provide care for ventilated patients, including suctioning (ETT, NT)\n
- Monitor and manage arterial lines and central lines\n
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac/vasoactive drips\n
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)\n
- Administer continuous IV sedation and care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure\n
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols for infection control\n
- Float to other units or nearby hospitals within scope as needed\n
- Complete all required modules and orientation promptly\n
