We're seeking a Heavy Civil Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team and provide strategic support across multiple districts. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving precision, efficiency, and collaboration in the preconstruction process. - Lead and mentor a team of estimators and assistant estimators.
- Oversee quantity take-offs, production rate analysis, and resource planning.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to define scope and requirements.
- Develop accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Establish preliminary project schedules and ensure alignment with overall timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to meet deadlines and maintain quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and local codes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of bids, contracts, and project correspondence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical training and experience.
- 10+ years in estimating, cost control, or engineering, with at least 4 years in heavy civil estimating.
- Strong knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control systems, and all engineering disciplines.
- Proven ability to manage teams and coordinate complex bid efforts.
- Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
