We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Paralegal – Estate Planning & Probate to support attorneys in all phases of estate planning, probate, and trust administration. This role is essential to delivering high-quality legal services and requires a proactive professional who can manage multiple matters, maintain accuracy, and interact with clients with professionalism and empathy. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and demonstrates strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset.
Compensation:
$70,000 - $75,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters from inception through resolution
- Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related instruments
- Prepare probate and trust administration filings, including petitions, notices, inventories, accountings, and court-related documents
- Manage probate and trust timelines and ensure compliance with court deadlines and statutory requirements
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, courts, and other third parties in a professional and compassionate manner
- Collect, organize, and maintain client information and documentation related to estate planning and probate matters
- Assist with asset identification, beneficiary designations, and funding of trusts
- Coordinate the execution of estate planning documents and notarization requirements
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files in accordance with firm procedures
- Track tasks, deadlines, and case progress to ensure matters move forward efficiently
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Support attorneys with legal research and administrative tasks as needed
- Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of paralegal experience, preferably in estate planning, probate, trust administration, or elder law
- Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Knowledge of Florida probate and estate planning procedures strongly preferred
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and judgment when handling confidential matters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff
- Client-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills
