Job Description

Roadway Superintendent
Location: Delray Beach, FL
Salary: up to $110K, based on experience

We’re helping a well-established civil contractor in South Florida find an experienced Roadway Superintendent to lead field operations on active paving and roadwork projects in the Delray Beach area. If you’ve been running crews on DOT or municipal jobs and know how to keep things moving without constant hand-holding, this is worth a look.

Why the role is open:
The company has picked up several new roadway contracts in the area and needs a strong field leader to take ownership of day-to-day operations. They’ve got the backlog, the equipment, and a solid team in place. Now they’re looking for someone who can bring field leadership and attention to detail where it matters most.

What your day will look like:
You’ll be running the show on-site. That means managing paving crews, checking grades, lining up trucks and materials, working with inspectors, and keeping your finger on the pulse of everything from production to safety. You’ll coordinate closely with the Project Manager and foremen to make sure work is done right, on time, and to spec.

You’ll also be the one people turn to when something goes sideways. Equipment issue, bad weather, material delay — you’ll make the call and get things back on track.

What they’re looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Superintendent on roadway or DOT paving jobs
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT specs, asphalt paving, earthwork, and traffic control
  • Confident managing crews and communicating with subcontractors, inspectors, and engineers
  • Able to read and interpret plans, schedules, and daily production goals
  • A leader who keeps safety and quality front and center
  • Someone who’s comfortable solving problems in the field without slowing everything down

What they offer:

  • Competitive salary with company truck or allowance
  • Full health benefits
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • A steady flow of work in the local area
  • A leadership team that actually backs their supers and gives them room to lead

If you’ve been running roadway projects and want to step into a role where your leadership actually shapes how the job gets done, this could be a strong fit.
