We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Drywall Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for drywall projects, including new installations, repairs, and replacements for commercial and residential clients. This role involves reviewing blueprints, conducting site visits, analyzing labor and materials, and preparing bids that align with client requirements and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review architectural drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to determine project requirements
- Conduct on-site assessments to gather data and verify conditions
- Calculate material, labor, and equipment costs for drywall systems
- Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors for accurate cost estimation
- Prepare and submit detailed, competitive project bids and proposals
- Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and clients to clarify project scopes and schedules
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, change orders, and bid results
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Track and analyze job costs and forecasting for ongoing projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in drywall
- Strong understanding of various drywall systems, materials, and installation practices
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, STACK, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents
- Solid math, analytical, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Preferred Certifications:
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Certified Drywall Estimator (optional, but a plus)
- Construction Estimating Certificate from an accredited institution
