Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time teaching opportunity is available for a certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students across grades K-12. This position is located in Spring Hill, Florida, within a dynamic educational environment focused on serving mixed ages and diverse populations. The role is a contract assignment aligned with the school year calendar (NSY).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments within a K-12 setting.
  • Design and implement individualized educational plans tailored to each students needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and other educators to optimize student learning outes.
  • Utilize assistive technology and adaptive strategies to enhance student access to the curriculum.
  • Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress regularly.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required.
  • Experience working with mixed age groups and various levels of visual impairment is preferred.
  • Additional licensure as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong munication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff.

Position Details:

  • Full-time mitment of 37.5 hours per week.
  • Contract duration matches the traditional school year.
