Job DescriptionPosition Summary
We are seeking a Spine-focused Neurosurgeon to join a collaborative, hospital-based practice in St. Petersburg, Florida. This position is ideal for a neurosurgeon with at least one year of post-training experience who is interested in providing high-quality surgical care for patients with complex spinal conditions. The Neurosurgeon – Spine will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a growing and well-supported clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and surgically manage patients with degenerative, traumatic, neoplastic, and complex spinal disorders.
- Perform a broad range of spine procedures, including minimally invasive and open surgical techniques, consistent with training and experience.
- Provide preoperative consultation, patient education, and shared decision-making regarding surgical options and expected outcomes.
- Manage postoperative care, including inpatient rounding, complication management, and coordination of follow-up care.
- Collaborate with orthopedic spine surgeons, pain management specialists, neurologists, hospitalists, and rehabilitation teams.
- Participate in on-call coverage and spine-related emergency consultations as required.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and complete documentation in the electronic health record.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and departmental meetings.
- Adhere to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and evidence-based clinical guidelines.

Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of post-residency or post-fellowship clinical experience in spine-focused neurosurgery.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Neurosurgery residency program.
- Fellowship training in spine surgery preferred but not required.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Neurosurgery.
- Current, unrestricted Florida medical license or eligibility for licensure.
- DEA registration or eligibility.
