Miami Children's Museum is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Afterschool to lead, develop, and oversee all afterschool, weekend, and holiday classes and camps for elementary-aged children. This leadership role requires a visionary educator who is passionate about creating engaging learning experiences for children and ensuring high-quality programming that aligns with the Museum’s mission.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Strategic Program Development: Design, implement, and oversee innovative afterschool, weekend, and holiday programs that foster creativity, learning, and fun for children ages 5-11.
- Leadership & Supervision: Manage and mentor a team of educators, ensuring high-quality instruction and engagement in all elementary-aged programs.
- Collaboration & Curriculum Development: Work closely with the Museum Gallery Programs Manager to co-develop interactive activities in exhibit galleries, group tours, and birthday party experiences.
- Educator Training & Community Engagement: Develop and lead professional development training for school teachers and educators, as well as contribute to the elementary education component of the Parent-Teacher Resource Center.
- Visitor Experience Enhancement: Ensure all programs provide a positive, enriching, and engaging experience for children and families.
- Operational Oversight: Manage program logistics, budgets, and staff scheduling to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Other Duties as Assigned: Contribute to special projects, events, and initiatives as needed to support the museum’s mission.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Elementary Education or a related field, with significant experience in programming for children ages 5-11.
- Extensive experience in designing and managing educational programs for children, parents, and educators, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and management skills, with the ability to inspire and support a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for education, creativity, and experiential learning in a museum or informal education setting.
