Summary Statement
The Learning & Development Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive training programs that support employee growth and organizational success. This role ensures that all new hires and current employees complete Skills Matrix assessments, develops training materials and SOPs, and collaborates with leadership to address skills gaps and training needs. The ideal candidate combines instructional design expertise with practical experience in delivering engaging, effective learning experiences across diverse teams.
Responsibilities:
Training Needs Assessment:
- Collaborate with department management and HR to identify training needs and skill gaps.
- Conduct surveys, interviews, and data analysis to determine effective training strategies.
- Maintain and monitor Skills Matrix completion for all employees.
Curriculum Development:
- Design, develop, and update training programs, presentations, videos, handouts, and manuals.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guides to support organizational consistency.
- Ensure all training content aligns with company goals, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
- Adapt training materials for different learning styles and employee needs.
Training Delivery:
- Facilitate engaging training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees.
- Provide clear instructions, guidance, and constructive feedback.
- Mentor and support new employees throughout their onboarding and development journey.
Training Evaluation:
- Assess training effectiveness using quizzes, surveys, and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and update training programs accordingly.
- Communicate outcomes and insights to management and HR.
Other Responsibilities:
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and new learning technologies.
- Manage training budgets and resources efficiently.
- Support organizational development initiatives and promote a culture of continuous learning.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Education, Instructional Design, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in Learning & Development, Training, Instructional Design, or a related role.
- Experience creating curriculum, training manuals, and conducting Training Needs Assessments is preferred.
- Strong instructional design and curriculum development skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Analytical skills for assessing training needs and measuring program effectiveness
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt to varying learning styles
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
