Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Store Manager to join our team at a retail store specializing in woodworking tools and supplies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for woodworking, strong leadership skills, and retail management experience. As the Assistant Manager, you will support the Store Manager in daily operations, customer service, team supervision, and sales performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations to ensure a smooth and efficient shopping experience
• Provide exceptional customer service, with in-depth knowledge of woodworking tools, supplies, and applications
• Support sales floor management, merchandising, and inventory control
• Train, mentor, and lead store associates to maintain high performance and product knowledge
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns with professionalism and problem-solving skills
• Assist in scheduling staff, monitoring attendance, and ensuring adequate coverage during peak hours
• Help execute in-store promotions, product demos, and events geared toward woodworking enthusiasts
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety procedures
• Monitor and analyze sales metrics, contributing ideas to drive revenue and customer satisfaction

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of retail or management experience, preferably in hardware, home improvement, or specialty tool retail
• Knowledge and enthusiasm for woodworking, carpentry, or DIY projects is highly desirable
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Customer-focused mindset with excellent interpersonal abilities
• Proven ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and solve problems efficiently
• Proficient with POS systems, inventory software, and Microsoft Office
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a niche retail environment
• Background in woodworking, carpentry, or construction
• Basic understanding of marketing and retail merchandising
