About the Role & Team
Disney's Agricultural Sciences Team at Epcot® is seeking applicants for an Entomologist for The Land greenhouses. The Agricultural Sciences team is responsible for maintaining and improving the agricultural show presented on the Living with The Land boat ride. You must have extensive Entomology/Integrated Pest Management experience.
You will report to the Agricultural Sciences Manager.
This is a full-time, salaried role with the requirement to work third shift.
What You Will Do

Identification of insect pests and determining control tactics in The Land greenhouses

Develop biologically based insect and mite management strategy

Conduct weekly crop monitoring, identify pest insects and mites and determine treatment plan

Application of pesticides as needed where there is no effective biological control available

Communicate closely with team as well as other internal and external partners
Required Qualifications & Skills
-
Florida Pesticide Applicator License
-
Field or greenhouse experience with identification of pest insects and mites

Experience executing treatment plans, including both chemical and biological control tactics

Experience in integrated pest management, biological control of insects and mites, and project management

Heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with greenhouse hydroponics and facility management
Education

B.S. degree in Entomology with 3+ years of experience required

M.S. in Entomology with 1+ years of related experience is preferred
