BASIC SUMMARY:

Maintain, repair and clean the property grounds, public club areas to ensure a safe, clean and presentable environment. Perform preventive maintenance to avoid disruption of club operations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance and repairs including minor electrical, roofing, plumbing and A/C services.
  • Respond to Alice work orders in a timely fashion and provide feedback to management once completed.
  • Complete routine preventive maintenance and repairs of operational equipment including water features.
  • Paint or repair windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
  • Inspect the pool and spa daily and follow the proper procedures for cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Maintain appropriate supply levels of chemicals and cleaning agents. Physically inspect the interior of the pool along with valves and drains to ensure they are free of debris and in proper operation condition.
  • Respond to guest complaints/requests in a timely manner.
  • Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid injury to self and others, including the safe operation of all power driven machinery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
  • Immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions to management.
  • Perform other tasks, including cross training, as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of skilled trade activities in plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical work and painting.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment and appliances.
  • Proficient in the use of a variety of trade tools (including both hand and electric tools).
  • Certified pool operations certificate preferred (state of Florida).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Basic proficiency in written and verbal English communication.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with little to no direct supervision.
  • Work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Schedule vacations during the off-season months.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS – ABILITY TO:

  • Grasp, lift, carry or transport boxes/ packages up to 50 lbs. with enough manual dexterity in both hands.
  • Able to load and unload carts up to 75 lbs.
  • Push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet for extended periods.
  • Reach with hands and arms, bend stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Stand and walk for length of scheduled shift.
  • Perform duties of the job while exposed to sun and hot weather conditions for prolonged periods.
  • Determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned through visual acuity.
  • Express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.
  • Perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and make fine discriminations in sound.
  • Withstand a moderate noise level.
