Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is looking for a Full-time - Radiology Technologist / X-Ray Tech to join our team at the San Marco and Beaches JOI clinic.

The position is full-time with benefits including 401K, Medical, Dental, vision, STD, LTD, Life Insurance, etc.

Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8a-5pm; 40 hours/week; No weekends.

San Marco location: 1325 San Marco Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207

Beach location: 1577Roberts Dr Ste 225, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience is preferred.
  • Florida Radiologic Technologist license required.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • CPR is required.
  • Experience with DR, CR, and C-Arm preferred.
  • Orthopaedic experience a plus.
  • Hospital experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with triaging patient care issues.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA guidelines/regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer proficient, including skills necessary to learn and utilize EMR software.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for direct patient care in a fast-paced outpatient Orthopaedic environment.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently, with Keiser University Radiologic Technology students or with other team members in support of our 20+ Physicians, PA’s and NP’s.
  • The Rad Tech is responsible for learning the radiographic protocols and unique projections necessary to assist our specialty providers in the treatment of their patients.
  • The Rad Tech will be expected to enter examination requests into EMR, retrieve and return patients to examination rooms, explain procedure to patient, question female patients regarding possible pregnancy, assist patient on to the examination table, position patient, set exposure factors according to technique guide recommendations as well as job knowledge and good radiologic practices, adjust lead protective shielding where applicable, and apply beam collimation to limit primary beam to the field of interest.
  • The Rad Tech is directly responsible for assuring that all images are labeled properly and meet the exacting image standards required by the physicians.
  • The Rad Tech will perform all related computer work in EMR and PACS, as required.
  • The Rad Tech is additionally responsible for maintaining safe and clean radiographic room for patients and staff.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift, bend, walk, kneel, stretch, and stoop. Requires eye hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires normal hearing and eyesight to allow for patient interaction and processing of patient information.
