Job Title: Medical Assistant (Per Diem)
Location: 14311 Metropolis Ave, Fort Myers, FL
Position Type: Per Diem
Pat Rate: $19/hr (Paid Weekly)
Allmed Benefits: Vision, Health, Dental Insurance and 401(k)
Work Schedule:
Per diem coverage for staffing shortages; schedule varies based on operational needs
Must be available for 8-hour shifts during hours of operation:
Monday/Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Required two-week training period (40 hours/week) with a fixed schedule
Flexible availability required
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and healthcare providers to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care. This per diem role supports staffing needs within the health center and requires flexibility to work varying schedules. The position has the potential to transition to full-time for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories, recording vital signs, and assisting with care coordination

Assist providers during patient examinations and treatments

Administer medications and injections as directed

Perform phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and lab draws

Prepare examination rooms and clean/sterilize instruments according to protocol

Review pre-printed instructions and care information with patients

Manage patient flow to ensure timely and efficient visits

Support front office operations, including patient check-in/check-out, scheduling, and medical record scanning

Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program

Current CPR certification
-
Strong clinical skills, including vitals, injections, phlebotomy, EKGs, and point-of-care testing

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to perform both front and back office duties
