Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our brand-new physician owned and operated urgent care. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and office procedures. The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients and must ensure a welcoming atmosphere while managing various clerical tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist them with the check-in process.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar effectively.
  • Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Handle cash daily
  • Maintain accurate patient records and conduct oneself in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Process medical collections and manage billing inquiries.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, including CPT coding and ICD coding.
  • Assist with medical administrative support tasks, including filing, typing, and data entry.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) system, eClinicalWorks, for patient management.
  • Coordinate care plans and communicate effectively with healthcare providers regarding patient needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to enhance patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, including familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to interact positively with patients and staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of medical billing processes and experience with medical coding is beneficial.

**Note, this is a new start-up practice and is not owned by a large corporation or entity. There are no shareholders. Therefore, once this company begins to grow, all standard full-time benefits will be made available to all full-time employees. Approx 6 months to 1 year.
