Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician to join our team! In this role, you will install, service, or repair heating and air conditioning systems in residences or commercial establishments.
Instant A/C & Electric is a small Wesley Chapel-based HVAC and electrical service company looking for a Technician/Installer to work mainly in the Wesley Chapel/New Tampa and surrounding areas.
You have past experience in an HVAC service technician role and hold an EPA certification. A team player who is comfortable working independently, you love the feeling of a job well done and take pride in completing customer jobs with efficiency. A positive attitude is a must!
Responsibilities:
- Install/Replace HVAC equipment including, but not limited to: ductwork, attic and/or vertical splits (gas or heat pump), rooftop package units (gas or heat pump)
- Perform maintenance and repair on various HVAC systems
- Work on Residential and Commercial Equipment
- Maintain good working order of company vehicle
- Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
- Travel to job sites in the service area, and work with dispatch software to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to the customer
- Engage in conversation with the homeowner to uncover any concern or interests regarding their AC system which could lead to potential accessory sales or a new system replacement
- Understand company pricing program and generate appropriate customer invoices and other electronic paperwork at the job site and electronically process credit card payments
- Participate in company-provided, vendor, and manufacturer training opportunities on customer service and the latest industry technologies.
- Work with apprentices and entry-level installers to coach and mentor
Qualifications:

- 4+ years actual work experience with knowledge in refrigeration function and theory, the ability to diagnose and perform replacement of HVAC related components such as Air Conditioners & Heat Pumps, Furnaces & Air Handlers, Duct Work & Zone Systems, Thermostats, Air Filters/filtration Systems, Low and high voltage wiring
- Type II EPA Certification or Universal
- Excellent customer service and communication skills with a strong desire to exceed customer expectations
- Minimum Tool Requirements: Basic Hand Tools- wrenches, screwdriver/nut drives, sheet metal/duct tools, basic power tools and hammer.
- Minimum Testing Equipment usage: Refrigerant Gauges, Electrical Multi-Meter, and Micron Gauge
- Working knowledge of city/county codes
- Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time
- Ability to crawl in tight places and climb ladders; work in attics, garages, crawl spaces, and on roofs
- Be on an on call rotation to work occasionally after hours/weekends as needed
- Willing to learn new skills and adapt techniques to comply with company protocols
- Able to learn and utilize company scheduling and invoice software
- Good driving record and willingness to go through a drug and background check
