Job Type: On-site | Full-Time

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated GIS Analyst to join a dynamic Community Planning and Development Department. This full-time, on-site position is responsible for performing highly technical GIS work, including analyzing, evaluating, and improving existing Geographic Information System (GIS) infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in GIS tools and methodologies, especially AutoCAD and ArcGIS, and will be responsible for managing GIS projects, developing user-friendly web apps, performing geographic analysis, and contributing to data visualization and decision-making tools across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and enhance existing GIS data, systems, and processes
  • Utilize GIS techniques to interpret and visualize geographic variables
  • Develop and maintain GIS databases, maps, and Webapps
  • Collaborate with internal departments for data collection and field verification
  • Manage multiple GIS projects with minimal to moderate supervision
  • Apply GIS and GPS principles to support community planning and development initiatives
  • Recommend data-driven strategies based on analysis outcomes
  • Ensure adherence to internal GIS standards and data accuracy
  • Coordinate closely with IT GIS teams and departmental leadership



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with GIS coursework
  • Minimum of 5 years of GIS experience, with at least 3 years working with ArcGIS Databases and AutoCAD
  • Strong knowledge of GPS hardware/software, GIS database management, cartography, statistics, and geographic theory
  • Certification as a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) is preferred
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License required
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficient with relevant computer software packages
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays
