Welder Assembler (*Entry Level*)
Job Description
- As a Welder Assembler, you will be responsible for constructing safe rooms. Your role involves primarily MIG welding, with occasional TIG welding, to build wall panels and other components. You will also engage in activities such as drywall installation, painting, and using hand and power tools to measure and cut materials. Approximately 50% of your time will be spent welding, while the remaining time will involve various tasks within the shop, particularly in panel building. You will work in teams of 4-6 and will be trained to read drawings. A crucial skill required is the ability to read a tape measure down to the 16th of an inch. All tools will be provided.
Pay/Shift
- Pay range: $17/hr - $20/hr (based on experience)
- Shift 7am - 5pm
Responsibilities
- Construct safe rooms using MIG and TIG welding techniques.
- Build wall panels and engage in drywall installation and painting.
- Use hand and power tools to measure and cut materials accurately.
- Collaborate with a team of 4-6 to construct rooms.
- Read and interpret drawings with provided training.
- Utilize a tape measure down to the 16th of an inch for precise measurements.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding and ability to pass a weld test.
- Experience in construction, assembly, fabrication, or shop settings.
- Skillful use of hand and power tools.
- Comfortable reading and interpreting a tape measure and square.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with chop saws, bandsaws, and shears is a plus.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly and engage in heavy lifting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
