Job Overview

Join our dedicated team at SoundSide Montessori Academy, a thriving community serving children from 18 months to 6 years old.

We seek a Montessori-certified Lead Toddler Teacher who brings warmth, professionalism, and a deep understanding of Montessori philosophy to our Toddler environment. This full-time, year-round position offers the opportunity to lead a prepared environment where young children can flourish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a toddler classroom with children aged 18 months to 3 years, implementing an authentic Montessori curriculum
  • Maintain a peaceful, orderly, and nurturing environment that supports the developmental needs of toddlers
  • Collaborate with an assistant teacher and guide them in Montessori best practices
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates and supporting family partnerships
  • Observe, document, and assess each child’s development and learning
  • Support and uphold the school’s mission, values, and community culture

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support teaching staff to ensure effective classroom management and delivery of educational programs.
  • Assist in developing and implementing curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners, including those with special education requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and conduct standardized testing as needed to assess learning outcomes.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, parents, and the community to promote a collaborative educational environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to teachers in managing classroom dynamics and addressing any behavioral issues.
  • Organize physical education activities that promote health, fitness, and teamwork among students.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe learning environment for all students.

Qualifications

  • MACTE Montessori certification (Toddler Level) required
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Montessori Toddler classroom, preferably
  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of child development and Montessori pedagogy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.68 - $19.37 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
