Job DescriptionAdvanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP)

Locations:

  • UF Leesburg Hospital

  • UF Spanish Plains Hospital

Schedule:

  • 3 days on / 1 day off

  • Workdays vary weekly based on assigned call days

Job Summary

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education, and follow-up services for patients aged 18 years through geriatric. Care is delivered under the direction of the Supervising Physician. The ARNP is also responsible for maintaining accurate medical records and performing other reasonable and appropriate duties as assigned.

Primary Functions

  • Examine patients and obtain and document medical histories

  • Adhere to established charting and documentation protocols

  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans

  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging as needed

  • Submit patient care plans and goals for periodic physician review

  • Analyze test results, establish diagnoses, and communicate findings to patients

  • Prescribe and administer treatments and medications

  • Promote health through patient education on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention

  • Administer immunizations and vaccinations as required

  • Refer patients to specialists when clinically appropriate

  • Report deaths and communicable diseases to appropriate governmental authorities

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Current and active State of Florida ARNP license in good standing

  • Current National Board Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills

  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and problem-solving ability

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Additional Qualifications

  • Prior experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Reporting Relationship

  • Reports directly to the supervising MD/DO
