Job Title: Finishing Operator

Job Summary:
The Finishing Operator supports Catalent’s mission to maintain a cGMP-compliant, safe, clean, and efficient pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing quality inspections of softgels, operating capsule cleaning and counting equipment, packaging finished products, and maintaining compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The operator ensures that only high-quality products are released for shipment while contributing to continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete all documentation related to the finishing process accurately and in compliance with SOPs.
  • Inspect softgels for quality, approving or rejecting as required; perform re-inspections when necessary.
  • Handle tray stacks and stage them for inspection or packaging.
  • Inspect and clean empty trays for reuse in production cycles.
  • Operate softgel washers, counting line machines, scales, and, when required, softgel printing machines.
  • Perform line clearances between product lots.
  • Package softgels in bulk, label cartons accurately, and transfer sealed cartons to staging or warehouse.
  • Follow safety policies when handling non-hazardous, hazardous, and DEA waste.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area.
  • Immediately report potential quality issues to supervision and QA as required.
  • Participate in cross-training to perform tasks in other production areas and update SOPs as needed.
  • Flexibility to be assigned to different tasks or areas based on staffing levels and workload.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience in a GMP-regulated industry preferred.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Basic computer proficiency, including Windows navigation and data entry.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow written, oral, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Physical and Vision Requirements:

  • Ability to sit intermittently, stand regularly, walk regularly, and lift up to 30 lbs independently (no more than 44 lbs without assistance) over a 12-hour shift.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 144 kg (approximately 460 lbs).
  • Vision requirements: must pass Ishihara Color Vision Screening and maintain 20/30 acuity (near and far) with or without corrective lenses (minimum 4 of 6 correct on Catalent’s in-house screening).
  • Frequent reading of written documents and computer monitor use.
  • Operation of industrial machinery required.

Work Schedule:

  • 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • 2-2-3 rotation shifts
