Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract position is available for an Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher in Jacksonville, FL, focusing on serving elementary students with diverse learning needs and exceptionalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage an elementary self-contained special education classroom.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote inclusive learning environments.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and district regulations for special education.
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Special Education (ESE) certification required.
- Holding either K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification is mandatory.
- Experience working with elementary-age students in self-contained ESE settings.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning levels.
