responsibilities:
- Tissue Preparation & Analysis: Perform all routine activities for preparing slides for microscopic evaluation by the pathologist, strictly adhering to established protocols.
- Core Histology: Expertly accession, label, and process all tissue samples. Perform routine embedding, microtomy, and prepare slides for Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining.
- Specialized Staining: Prepare solutions and reagents and perform required special stain procedures. May also assist with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) testing.
- Quality & Compliance: Strictly adhere to quality control policies, meticulously document all QC activities, and ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and all federal/local regulations.
- Lab Operations: Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. May provide technical guidance to other lab staff.
qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree is required. Must possess a current ASCP Histotechnologist (HTL) certification
- Experience in a histotechnology lab environment
- Preferred: Experience with automated staining equipment and/or Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
