Role Description
This full-time, on-site role is for a Medical Lab Technologist with a Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist General Supervisor license. The individual will perform laboratory testing on specimens, maintain equipment, ensure quality control, and support compliance with regulatory standards. The role combines technical testing responsibilities with supervisory and resource coordination duties.
Shift - 4 days, 10 hours per day
- Shift 3: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 11pm - 9am
Key Responsibilities
- Perform moderate to high complexity lab testing following standard procedures.
- Use quality control techniques (manual, semi-automated, automated) to validate results.
- Maintain and operate lab instrumentation, including preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Interpret and review test results, recognizing critical or abnormal values, and take corrective actions.
- Assist with or conduct training and competency assessments for staff.
- Coordinate lab resources to manage workflow and meet testing demands.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety protocols (SOPs, CAP, etc.).
- Potentially act in a supervisory or section head capacity when leadership is absent.
Qualifications
- Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist General Supervisor license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Laboratory Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
- Certification from a recognized credentialing body (e.g., ASCP or AMT).
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques, sample preparation, equipment operation, and quality control.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards in clinical laboratories.
