With a growing team of nationally acclaimed care centers, providers, and staff, we are excited to expand our reach with the opening of our new care center location in Parrish, Florida. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team and support our mission of delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.

Description: The Medical Assistant will support the daily operations of the new Parrish, FL gastroenterology care center by providing clinical and administrative assistance to physicians, clinicians, and patients. This role is essential in ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate electronic record-keeping, and optimal patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clerical Support:

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking vital signs, medical history, and documenting information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Responsible for entering recalls and handling new prescription/prescription refills as directed by the physician
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and other team members to ensure patient care is delivered seamlessly and safely
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
• Triage phone calls accordingly
• Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as needed basis
• Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
• Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:

• Certification of Completion of accredited MA program (CMA or RMA) is preferred
• 1+ year of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in gastroenterology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, providers, and team members
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills

Physical Demands

The employee is frequently required to walk, sit; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and climb stairs. The employee should be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
