Job SummaryBusy Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a Operating Room Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technicians, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Monitor patients during surgery, assessing their condition, vital signs, and anesthesia effectiveness.
  • Administer medications and interventions as directed by the surgical team.
  • Assemble and prepare the necessary instruments, supplies and equipment for the surgical procedure according to the surgeon’s preference card.
  • Open sterile supplies with the scrub tech/nurse.
  • Check the working order of the room equipment.
  • Assesses physiological and psychosocial health status of patient.
  • Document all patient information accurately and maintain thorough records.
  • Continually adjusts care plan based on patient/family data.
  • Demonstrates proper preoperative process – communication/report.
  • Demonstrates proper procedure and documentation for surgical case counting.
  • Demonstrates proper aseptic technique.
  • Demonstrates efficient turnover time.
  • Demonstrates proper technique for obtaining blood products.
  • Demonstrates proper patient identification verification per policy.
  • Demonstrates proper surgical site identification and marking per policy.
  • Anticipates surgeon’s needs during surgical procedure.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Qualifications

  • Valid Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

  • Two years' experience as OR Circulator at Ambulatory Surgical Center.
  • Minimum one year ORTHOPEDICS and SPINE experience.

LICENSE/SKILLS

  • Thorough knowledge of the Nursing Process.
  • Knowledge and experience in Perioperative care of the surgical patient.
  • Knowledge of specialized equipment.
  • Cost effective in the use of supplies and equipment.
