Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Surveyor in Training (SIT) to join our growing team. This full-time role is ideal for candidates actively enrolled in an accredited surveying/geomatics program and progressing toward their Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) licensure in Florida. You will work under the supervision of a Licensed Professional Surveyor, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of surveying and site development projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist licensed surveyors in planning, conducting, and managing land surveying projects
• Perform fieldwork, including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, and site development surveys
• Collect, reduce, and analyze survey data using industry-standard tools and software
• Prepare survey deliverables such as plats, maps, legal descriptions, sketches, and technical documentation
• Ensure all work complies with Florida surveying statutes, regulations, and professional standards
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and internal teams to support project requirements
• Support training, mentoring, and guidance of junior crew members when needed

Requirements

• Active Surveyor in Training (SIT) license in Florida — required

• Enrollment in an accredited surveying/geomatics program, actively pursuing PSM licensure

• Associate or bachelor’s degree (in progress or completed) in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related discipline

• Hands-on experience with survey instruments (GPS, total stations, levels, data collectors)

• Proficiency with drafting and survey software: AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, or similar

• Strong understanding of surveying principles, measurement science, boundary law, and field procedures

• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs

• Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Ability to pass a drug screening
