Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Visually Impaired Teacher serving K-12 students in a Miami, FL school setting. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments, helping them achieve academic success and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with visual impairments
- Provide instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and assistive technology
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive learning environments
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Advocate for accessibility and assistive resources within the school community
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Visual Impairment Education
- Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, tools, and technologies for visually impaired learners
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and learning styles
