Due to recent expansion, we're seeking a skilled Creditor Bankruptcy Foreclosure Paralegal - Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team.
We are hiring a Creditor Bankruptcy Foreclosure Paralegal / Legal Assistant with experience in Chapters 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing creditor-side filings and documentation.
Recent experience (within the last 1–2 years) is required.
Compensation:
$50,000 - $65,000 yearly
Responsibilities:
Bankruptcy Paralegal:
- Open bankruptcy files in Case Aware and confirm case status in LPS;
- Conduct bankruptcy and PACER searches;
- Prepare and file Transfers of Claims (TOC), Proofs of Claim (POC), and related notices;
- Draft and file Motions for Relief from Stay;
- Prepare Objections to Plan Confirmation;
- Coordinate hearing coverage for Bankruptcy hearings;
- Monitor open Bankruptcy cases and update clients;
- Handle eviction actions, including drafting and filing Motions for Writ of Possession and/or Eviction/Unlawful Detainer Actions;
- Following up with the Sheriff’s office and Coordinating Lockouts;
- Answer phones as assigned per the separate schedule;
- Process mail;
- Oversee the mailings inbox.
Qualifications:
2–5 years of recent experience (must be within the last 1–2 years) in:
- Creditor bankruptcy proceedings
- Chapters 7, 11, and 13
Strong drafting and filing skills, including:
- Motions for Relief from Stay
- Proofs of Claim
- Objections to Confirmation
- Other relevant pleadings and notices
- Experience with Bankruptcy Mortgage Modification Mediation is a plus.
Software Proficiency (Preferred):
- Case Aware
- Tempo
- LPS
