Position Summary:
EV Construction is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to join our growing team. The primary role of this position is to manage and coordinate construction projects in accordance with project plans, specifications, and company guidelines. Successful candidates will take responsibility / ownership for assigned projects' performance, schedule, quality, safety, and cleanliness.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assume responsibility for activities / information prior to the start of construction through project completion and post-construction follow-up on assigned projects.
- Thoroughly review construction drawings, specifications, estimates, budget, scopes of work, contract documents, purchase orders and other construction documents.
- Responsible for attending meetings with Project Manager and other applicable parties including but not limited to pre-construction, hand-off and post-construction meetings.
- Assume responsibility for onsite management and coordination of assigned projects.
- Ensure appropriate recordkeeping and distribution of construction documents, primarily using Procore.
- Ensure that company job trailers, site signage, and temporary facilities are placed, maintained, and removed in a timely, professional, clean, and organized manner.
- Oversee all construction activity and execution of work, following current drawings, specifications and project schedule.
- Ensure company safety and quality requirements are met and inspected regularly.
- Ensure scheduling requirements are met and progress reports are given to project stakeholders, including any recommendations for necessary modifications.
- Develop professional and collaborative working relationships with the EV project team, owner, trade contractors and suppliers. This may include taking lead in conflict resolution amongst any of these relationships.
- Maintain continuous communication about all project requirements, changes and pertinent information.
- Complete daily logs and take jobsite pictures daily utilizing Procore.
- Ensure clean, organized job trailer and construction site.
- Develop a 4-week look ahead schedule, coordinating with all necessary trade contractors and distribute to trades on a weekly basis.
- Maintain up-to-date drawings, creating necessary markups for as-built drawing requirements.
- Ensure all state and local building codes, or other authorities having jurisdiction, are followed.
- Oversee timely execution of punch lists, final inspections, as-built drawings and project acceptance by Owner and Design Partners.
- Continue client relations with required contact during the warranty period and resolve any warranty issues under the direction of the Project Manager.
- Assist the Project Manager in acquiring any as-built drawings and close-out documents.
- Review trade contractor and supplier performance and provide any pertinent feedback to the project and preconstruction team.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, architectural technology, construction engineering, or a related field.
- Educational and experience requirements include a minimum 4-years of technical training or equivalent experience AND a minimum 4-year equivalent experience in a similar role
- Mastery of blueprint reading and specifications (CSI MasterFormat).
- Thorough understanding of quality building practices, construction technology, equipment, tools, work procedures and industry terminology required.
- Familiarity with Procore.
- Must have a valid Drivers License and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
- OSHA 30-Hour
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, architectural technology, construction engineering, or a related field.
- Spanish Language Proficiency.
- Boom Lifts, Scissor Lifts, CPR Certified
- Stormwater Certified, NPDES Certified
Work Environment:
Work will be executed both indoors and outdoors, varying each day, which will result in exposure to high temperatures, humidity, and cold temperatures. The ground may be uneven or elevated or both. The individual may also be subject to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. This position is often exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as proper footwear, hard hat, safety glasses, and earplugs (if applicable), shall be worn on construction sites at all times unless otherwise specified. The working environment will also occasionally include exposure to contaminants, such as fumes from paints or sealers, and both hazardous equipment and situations. Depending on the project site, work may occur in very bright or very dim lighting conditions. This position often works close to others, typically within a few feet.
Physical Demands:
This position must be able to access and navigate all areas of a construction site in all types of weather and on uneven and/or elevated surfaces. The individual will need to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly, up to 75 pounds occasionally. Sitting, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods of time will be necessary to perform the requirements of this position. Some motions may be repetitive. The individual will also need to see small details at close range and be able to perform work at heights, on scaffolding, ladders and / or powered lifts.
