Craftsmen Contractors is looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Fitter for the Pensacola, Florida area. This is a full-time position working day shifts from Monday through Friday. Start time is 6 AM. The project is at Eglin Air Force Base. You will need to pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen before you are hired.
Pay is $25/hour.
No per diem is offered. Weekly pay.
Job Duties:
- Assemble, install, maintain, and repair heavy machinery and mechanical systems, working from blueprints to fit and join metal parts using hand/power tools.
- Read blueprints and assemble/fit machined parts for production machines, pipelines, and heavy equipment.
- Inspect, service, clean, lubricate, and repair machinery to operational standards.
- Use saws, grinders, and other tools to shape metal into desired components.
- Identify malfunctions and implement solutions to fix equipment.
- Keep records of all work that is performed.
Job Requirements:
- Prior Mechanical Fitter experience - at least 2 years preferred.
- Must have experience working with hand/power tools, precision instruments, and machinery.
- Perform inspections, adjustments, and preventative maintenance.
- Have stamina for physically demanding tasks.
- Wear personal protective gear, such as protective eyewear and steel-toed boots.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and possess a high degree of attention to detail.
- Be able to work around hazardous conditions at certain times.
- Ability to read a tape measure and read blueprints.
- Work in confined spaces while installing equipment.
- Ability to work from a ladder.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Authorized to work in the US.
- Pass a criminal background check.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Will need hand tools.
