Title: MEP Field Survey Engineer
Location: Miami, FL or New York, NY
Company: Schnackel Engineers, Inc.
We are seeking a Field Survey Engineer to gather information allowing the design team to develop plumbing, mechanical, and electrical plans and specifications for architectural projects in the USA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document existing conditions of an area and construction object for plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection.
- Learn the building codes that apply to the project.
- Ability to document, describe, and measure items above the ceiling and on the rooftops.
- Coordinating with the client, the MEP/FP/IT design team, and other engineers to ensure the design is consistent with the client’s vision, to identify and resolve areas of conflict, to ensure a fully coordinated interdisciplinary design, and to ensure the design schedule is maintained.
- Capable of climbing a ladder and operating a scissor lift.
- Travel three to four days a week to various sites in the USA.
- Submit field reports within two-three days after the survey.
- Organize and submit travel expense receipts on time.
- Provide mentoring and guidance for colleagues.
What We Are Looking For:
- Willingness to travel three to four days a week to various job sites.
- Capable of climbing a ladder and operating a scissor lift.
- In possession of an associate degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- 1-2 or more years of field survey experience with an MEP/FP engineering consulting company
- Ability to travel in the USA and sometimes in Canada.
- Valid U.S. Passport.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe PDF, and Microsoft Suite.
- Good communication skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and multitask.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently upon receiving necessary direction and information.
