About Us:
Leading national real estate firm specializing in commercial properties with a portfolio consisting of office, industrial flex, and retail shopping centers located in Florida, NJ & NY is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join our dynamic commercial team. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing landlord-tenant matters and supporting legal processes related to commercial leases and portfolio related activities. This position is based out of our southeast Florida headquarters.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare leases and lease abstracts, assist in preparing LOI’s in collaboration with leasing and property management team.
- Prepare and report to relevant team members, detailed lease abstracts for tracking of pertinent terms, and fluctuating lease dates that effect accounting processes.
- Prepare communications to tenants, e.g. delivery of possession, default notices, etc.
- Initiate court filings and collections, track payment plans and make recommendations for resolving accounts in arrears.
- Maintain detailed archives of lease documents and correspondence with tenants.
- Report insurance claims to carriers and track all claims until they have been settled.
- Process paperwork for all related new occupancies and tenant vacating lease hold premises.
- Coordinate with the accounting department all related CAM reconciliations and estimates prepared by accounting department to include in any collections and evictions.
- Create and manage calendar for all collections and eviction actions, and all related litigation including court calendar pertaining to landlord tenant court appearances.
- From time-to-time Paralegal may be required to assist in other litigation matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Paralegal related studies.
- Minimum of 5 years of Commercial Real Estate Paralegal experience.
- Specific to Paralegal experience relating to landlord tenant activities.
- Experience with litigation support in landlord-tenant disputes.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize a wide range of responsibilities.
- Strong verbal, writing and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
