Summary: Teaches assigned science related class or outreach programs in classroom
setting, following curriculum as established by Director of Education.
Duties and Responsibilities
Include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Instructs students to advance an understanding of the sciences in a hand-on setting.
2. Adapts curriculum and lesson plans to meet and/or improve program objectives.
3. Monitor all students and activities, keeping an eye to safety.
4. Report any incidents to Director of Education or Camp Director.
5. Adheres to the policies and procedures of the Center.
6. Other duties as required to fulfill the duties of the position.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and minimum two years teaching experience.
2. An interest in public education relating to South Florida ecosystems and environment.
3. Must be energetic, creative and engaging with a sense of humor.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to deal effectively and courteously with the general public and co-workers.
5. Excellent organizational, time management and supervisory skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
6. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
