Job Description: Checks and fills hulls after the grinding process to ensure water tightness. Install side and bottom sound-dampening material and apply a thick coat of paint to the bilge area where required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and correct imperfections in the gel coat.
  • Gel Coat and repair are required.
  • Use orbital sander, buffer, die grinder, polishing compounds, etc.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Work with a team to complete daily tasks
  • Follow instructions of the Manager/Supervisor/lead.
  • Must comply with all OSHA and safety procedures.
  • Flexible work hours.
  • Cross-train within the department

Requirements:

Physical and Work Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature.
  • Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to climb into and out of the interior of boats.
  • Must be able to wear proper safety equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds when necessary.
  • The ability to see details at close range.
  • Be able to use and maintain small hand tools (grinder, scraper, razor knife, blower, etc.)
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
