Job Summary:
The EMS Instructor is responsible for delivering classroom, lab, and practical instruction in accordance with state and national EMS education standards. This role involves preparing course materials, evaluating student performance, and ensuring that students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to perform in emergency medical settings.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, accurate instruction in EMT and/or Paramedic-level courses

Teach in classroom, skills lab, and clinical settings as assigned

Prepare lesson plans, presentations, and training materials in line with NREMT/state curriculum

Evaluate student performance through written exams, practical skills testing, and ongoing assessments

Provide constructive feedback, support, and mentorship to students

Ensure a safe, professional, and inclusive learning environment

Maintain accurate student records and attendance logs

Stay current on EMS best practices, protocols, and continuing education requirements

Participate in curriculum reviews, staff meetings, and instructor training sessions

Assist with scenario development, simulations, and program improvement initiatives
Qualifications:

Current certification/licensure as a Paramedic

EMS Instructor Level A and B
-
Minimum 3 years of field experience in prehospital medical services

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of adult learners

Proficient in teaching platforms (in-person, online, and hybrid instruction)

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
-
Associate's degree required
-
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
