Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Private Investigator Intern located in Jacksonville, FL. The Private Investigator Intern will be responsible for conducting desk investigations, investigative reporting, and surveillance. The role will include tasks such as researching, gathering, reviewing, and verifying information, writing detailed reports, and working closely with case managers and management to achieve the desired objective through the investigative process.
Candidate must have completed the 40 hr Private Investigator course and passed the exam with Certificate of completion, or already have a Class CC Private Investigator Intern license before applying for this position.
This is a 40 hr / wk position - No part-time. 40 hours will be comprised between office desk investigations and field investigations.
Successful candidate must possess the following:
- Must possess a passion for the industry and be capable of thinking outside the box
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, bilingual a plus.
- Excellent computer and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.
- Critical thinking, initiative, self-motivation and attention to detail, are essential components for all candidates.
- Candidates must be able to travel within a 150 mile radius from their home base and occasional overflow coverage outside the normal radius may be required on a limited basis which may require overnight stay. Mileage compensation is included.
- Flexible in work schedules, availability to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed and as assignment presents as is standard in the industry.
- All candidates must have a fully insured, surveillance ready vehicle with appropriate window tinting / dash cam; laptop with Microsoft word, Pinnacle Dazzle Video Creator software & connector (if needed), field accessible internet connection; plus any and all equipment necessary in the day to day operation of field investigations which includes, but not limited to, Covert camera, HD Camcorder, a camera steadying device (tripod, monopod, camera clamp, jo-mount, etc.), Dashcam, and digital audio recorder.
- Must be able to take direction, constructive criticism, and follow company procedures and protocol.
Duties and responsibilities to including the following:
- As Desk (office) Investigator - conduct various forms of Background Investigations, Social Media Investigations, Employment Verifications, Document/Record Retrieval and Information Verification
- As Field Investigator - conduct Surveillance (stationary, mobile, covert), Activity Checks, Alive and Well Checks, Locates, any and all aspects of investigations.
- Obtain Quality (clear, in-focus, and steady) surveillance photographic and/or video evidence
- Properly follow specific formats and timelines
- Obtain Written and/or Recorded Statements
- Produce Daily Reports with applicable details, summaries, and corresponding photographic / video evidence
