Our client, a leading manufacturer in Miami, Florida, is seeking a Junior Chemist. In this role, you'll assist with formulating and developing US-manufactured products in South Florida! Working in a laboratory setting, you'll report directly to the Head Chemist while collaborating with product development teams to maintain high-quality standards and industry compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in formulating and developing skincare, haircare, and cosmetic products under senior supervision.
- Perform stability and compatibility testing to assess product performance and shelf life
- Evaluate raw materials and monitor emerging ingredient innovations
- Maintain detailed laboratory records and documentation
- Assist senior chemists with optimizing existing formulations
- Understand and comply with industry regulations and safety protocols
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and support the product development process
- Prepare and analyze laboratory test samples for both internal quality control and external validation
Requirements:
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and testing procedures
- Familiarity with industry regulations (FDA, EU, GMP) is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Thorough knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, raw materials, and formulation techniques
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting
- 1-2 years of cosmetic formulation experience (internships or laboratory experience considered)
