Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Superintendent to lead the on-site execution of complex construction projects. This senior-level role requires at least 10 years of supervisory experience, a proven track record of managing teams, and the ability to oversee all aspects of project delivery. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of construction management, and the ability to effectively manage multiple contracts and teams on-site. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership on job sites, ensuring smooth operations and alignment with project objectives.
  • Oversee and coordinate the work of subcontractors, site personnel, and vendors to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring milestones are met and resources are effectively allocated.
  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Resolve on-site issues promptly, with a solutions-oriented approach to minimize disruptions.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers, clients, architects, and engineers to address challenges and provide updates.
  • Mentor and develop junior site superintendents and other team members.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, change orders, and as-built drawings.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Supervise daily operations on the construction site, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
  • Travel to building sites as required, with frequent overnight and weekend travel required for project oversight and meetings.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, RedTeam).
  • Direct involvement in ensuring projects meet all local, state, and federal construction regulations.
  • Strong experience reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor diverse on-site teams, including subcontractors, junior superintendents, and laborers.
  • Experience proactively identifying potential project risks and implementing solutions to minimize disruptions.
  • Expertise in managing site logistics, materials, and equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Expertise in managing large-scale, high-value projects across various sectors (e.g., commercial, industrial, residential).
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and contracts.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with stakeholders.



Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training is required.

Field personnel on construction project teams should expect 60-hour workweeks, with a minimum of 5 days a week and 8 hours per day, including weekends. Travel home is typically every other week, but can shift to every third week depending on project needs. During the final month and a half of a project, it's common to remain on-site and take extra time off after completion.
