2nd Shift: 3pm - 11pm
SUMMARY:
Under minimal supervision, setup Vertical, Horizontal and Mill Turn CNC machines to perform one or more functions on metal work pieces satisfactorily to meet production goals; maintain quality and safety standards; record keeping; maintaining equipment and supplies
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
· Ability to read blueprints and part drawings utilizing GD&T.
· Proficiency in G code and M code. Experience with Macros.
· Ability to set up and operate mills, lathes and multi axes CNC machines. Ability to set correct tool and work offsets and fixture alignments.
· Ability to accurately use measuring instruments to verify part tolerances.
· Assist in developing processes to machine part to completion including documentation of process.
· Leads the operation of the production floor during a set shift. Communicates with previous and following shifts.
· Adheres to AS9100 quality practices and ensures all finished goods, WIP, scrap and raw material is identified and labeled correctly.
· Experience with training operators on standard machine practices
· Confers with engineers to prevent and resolve machining and or assembly problems.
· Knowledge of properties of metal and other materials
· Advanced mathematic skills.
· Effective leadership and management skills
· If necessary informs purchasing of out of stock or low inventory of tooling.
· Maintain a consistent volume of output with minimal non-conformances. Applies Lean Manufacturing principles.
· Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
· Properly completes production and quality documents; utilizes and understands production software to communicate actions and irregularities.
· Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
· Adheres to Six Sigma practices and maintains an organized and clean work area.
· When possible diagnose machining problems and handles minor machine repair.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum high school diploma or GED.
· Minimum of 5 years as a CNC Machinist
· The individual must have a solid understanding of metal machining concepts and processes including milling, drilling and turning.
· The individual must possess a high level of attention to detail.
· Must be knowledgeable of material types and calibration gages.
· Language: Ability to effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbal and written in the English language.
· Mathematical & Reasoning: Ability to perform mathematical computations; apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to identify problems and draw valid conclusions.
· Physical Demands: Ability to lift approximately 50lbs when required. Ability to physically complete shifts requiring the employee to stand, walk and reach with arms and hands. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and to adjust focus.
