Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a K-12 educational setting. This contract position spans the full academic school year and is based in Naples, FL.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with educators and therapists to provide occupational therapy services aimed at enhancing students functional abilities and supporting their academic success. Your skills will contribute to the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in assessing students developmental, physical, and functional needs in a school environment
- Implement occupational therapy strategies and interventions under the guidance of a licensed occupational therapist
- Monitor and document student progress toward therapy goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to promote student participation and success
- Adapt activities and environments to support student independence and engagement
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing
- Experience working with children in educational or clinical settings, preferably K-12
- Strong munication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of school-based therapy practices and IDEA regulations is a plus
