Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and service-oriented Assistant General Manager to support the leadership team of our upscale restaurant in Jacksonville. The AGM will play a critical role in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining high standards of service and hospitality, and fostering a positive and professional team environment.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who is passionate about creating memorable guest experiences, coaching and developing staff, and driving operational excellence in a high-end dining environment.


Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations.
  • Ensure consistent execution of elevated service standards and guest-focused hospitality.
  • Lead floor operations during service, monitoring pacing, service quality, and overall guest satisfaction.
  • Address guest concerns promptly, professionally, and effectively.
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness, ambiance, and overall presentation.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor front-of-house staff and management team members.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Support staff development through ongoing training, feedback, and guidance.

Financial & Administrative Support

  • Assist in managing labor costs, inventory, and other controllable expenses.
  • Monitor sales and operational performance to support profitability goals.
  • Aid in budget preparation and execution of operational strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and health and safety regulations.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with culinary leadership to ensure smooth coordination between front- and back-of-house operations.
  • Maintain clear communication with ownership and leadership teams.
  • Support special events, private dining, and high-profile guest experiences.


Qualifications

  • 3+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in upscale or fine dining.
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality standards and guest service excellence.
  • Proven leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience with POS and restaurant management systems preferred.
