Rebuilding Together Greater Florida (formerly Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay) RTGFL is a nonprofit organization dedicated to repairing homes, revitalizing communities, and rebuilding lives. Serving over 21 counties across Florida, RTGFL provides safe and healthy housing for low-income homeowners, seniors, veterans, and families in need through home rehabilitation, disaster recovery, and community revitalization programs.


Position Summary

The Construction Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Vice President of Construction and district construction teams to ensure RTGFLs statewide projects run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with program requirements.


This role helps track project progress, maintain documentation, and coordinate communication between headquarters and district offices. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction and nonprofit environment.


Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and logistical support to the Vice President of Construction and district Construction Managers.

  • Maintain project documentation, photos, inspection records, and permit tracking across districts.
  • Prepare reports, meeting notes, and data summaries for construction and compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate calendars, travel, and communication for the VP of Construction.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and progress in BuilderTrend and Salesforce.
  • Assist with vendor and subcontractor documentation, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Support safety tracking, compliance documentation, and construction team trainings.
  • Collaborate with Program Operations and Finance to ensure project alignment with funding requirements.


Qualifications

  • Associate degree required; Bachelors degree preferred in Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 24 years of experience in construction, project coordination, or administrative support (nonprofit or affordable housing experience preferred).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in BuilderTrend, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with permitting, inspections, and basic construction processes preferred.
  • Valid Florida drivers license and reliable transportation required.


Physical and Travel Requirements

  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to district offices or construction sites.
  • Must be able to attend statewide meetings or training as needed.
