Ear, Nose and Throat Associates a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is currently seeking a Medical Assistant Applicants with higher education needing experience in the medical field for their career path will be considered. We are located in the Westchase. Our practice provides comprehensive ENT medical care within the convenience of one medical practice. Patient care is our top concern. Our office provides both diagnostic and treatment services. Patients know they can depend on our team for all their needs.

Medical Assistant Description:

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Assistant or Intern willing to learn. Applicant must be comfortable with in-office procedures, medical terminology, multitask oriented, motivated and thrives in a busy medical practice. Applicant must be responsible and willing to learn all aspects of an ENT practice.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Answering patient calls
  • Taking vitals
  • Obtaining authorizations
  • Scheduling diagnostic tests
  • Preparing exam rooms
  • Assisting the physician in exam rooms for procedures as needed (ie: wax removal, biopsies, surgical procedures, etc)obtaining proper consent and ensuring proper scope of practice is followed
  • Calling in prescriptions
  • Cleaning and sterilizing instruments in accordance with CDC and ENTAAF guidelines
  • Provide briefing of each patient prior to physician entering the exam room

Medical Assistant Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant experience or Intern with higher education
  • Comfortable assisting with surgical procedures.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a clear speaking voice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to interact professionally at all times with patients, physicians, and team members.
  • EMR experience.
  • Strong computer literacy.

  • 401(K): Effective 1st of the month after 1 year of employment.

Physical Demands: Coordination, manual, and physical dexterity sufficient to properly and adequately use various items of medical equipment and office equipment as required of the position or directed by the Manager. The position may involve sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Incumbent must also be able to assist patients in transferring from wheelchair to an exam chair/table when necessary.
