Overview
The Ascendancy Group is seeking a seasoned professional to provide Irregular Warfare (IW) and Special Operations expertise in support of USCENTCOM’s Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate. This role requires extensive experience in the Special Operations Enterprise, specialized knowledge of sensitive military or intelligence activities, and proven ability to synchronize operations across joint, multinational, and interagency environments. The IW Planner will advise senior leaders, develop operational plans, and ensure alignment of SOF/IW capabilities with USCENTCOM mission priorities.
Security Requirement: A Top Secret/SCI Clearance is required

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine plans, COAs, FRAGOs, orders, and CONOPs to support USCENTCOM IW objectives.
- Write, review, and edit IW-related documents and mission concepts (MICONs).
- Coordinate and synchronize SOF/IW planning across DoD, interagency, allied, coalition, and multinational partners.
- Advise USCENTCOM leadership on SOF employment and utilization in IW operations.
- Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex operational and strategic challenges.
- Support current IW operations and special activities, coordinating subject matter experts for professional development programs.
- Conduct FOIA and MDR coordination, ensuring compliance with legal standards and safeguarding USCENTCOM plans and orders.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the Special Operations Enterprise.
- At least 2 years of specialized experience in compartmented, sensitive military/IC activities or cyber operations.
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of SOF/IW experience at a Joint or Geographic Combatant Command HQ.
- Preferred: 2+ years with SOF, SMU, or special/technical law enforcement units.
- Strong knowledge of SOF core missions and IW doctrine.
