ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 600 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Job Summary: This position accounts for the aftercare of the youth who have aged out of the foster care system. Coordinates community resources such as affordable housing, housing needs, and local resources.

The items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide.

  • Provide young adults with transition assistance in preparation for life on their own. Including school or educational program enrollment, daycare referrals, service referrals, and needs assessments.
  • Meet with teens and young adults to assess their progress with independent living and transition responsibilities.
  • Work with Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to develop plans for incarcerated young adults.
  • Maintain proficiency in new and pending laws, concerning children in Independent Living Programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:

Years of Experience:

  • Two (2) of experience in Child Case Management

Education/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
  • Master’s Degree preferred
