Pride Health is hiring a Histotechnologist to support our client’s medical facility in Pompano Beach, FL. This is a 2+ month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Title: Histotechnologist I
Location: Pompano Beach FL 33069
Pay Rate: $45 - $55/hr. on W2.
Shift: Mon - Fri 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM/ 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM
Duration: 2+ Months
*Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform both routine and complex histology procedures for microscopic examination by pathologists
- Accurately accession, label, and track all tissue samples
- Embed processed tissue in paraffin and perform precise microtomy
- Prepare slides and conduct routine Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) staining
- Cover-slip stained slides manually or via automated systems
- Prepare and validate reagents and control materials for special stains and IHC procedures
- Perform special stain techniques and may assist with IHC testing
- Maintain accurate documentation, including quality control and remedial actions
- Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting on lab equipment
- Train and mentor new histotechnicians, students, and lab aides
- Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and company policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lab environment
- Complete other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Histotechnician
- Proficient in embedding and microtomy
- Bachelor’s Degree and ASCP HT certification required
