Provide specialized respiratory care as an RN in a dynamic Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting, supporting critically ill newborns alongside a dedicated healthcare team. This contract opportunity is based in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and offers a chance to apply advanced respiratory therapy skills in a Level III NICU environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive respiratory treatments and evaluations to neonates with respiratory insufficiencies.
  • Operate and manage advanced ventilators including High Frequency Ventilator (JET) and Oscillator.
  • Float to adult critical care units as needed, demonstrating flexibility and broad respiratory expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Utilize Meditech EMR system for documentation and patient monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are mandatory; NRP certification is required for NICU.
  • Minimum of 2 years current acute care Respiratory Therapist experience in a hospital setting.
  • Competency in handling high-level respiratory equipment, specifically High Frequency Ventilators.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Previous experience working in critical care or NICU settings preferred.
  • Familiarity with Meditech electronic medical records is advantageous.
