As a Paint Technician, you’ll be responsible for applying high-quality finishes to aircraft components in accordance with industry standards and customer specifications. From standard color applications to complex detailing, you’ll ensure every surface meets strict requirements for durability, safety, and appearance.

Your work will involve surface preparation, masking, mixing and applying coatings, and performing detailed inspections to confirm compliance with FAA , customer and company standards. When painting tasks are not required, you’ll support the Repair & Maintenance team, giving you the opportunity to expand your technical skills and contribute to overall operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Read & Interpret specifications such as color schemes, Manufacturer’s Instructions, Maintenance Manual instructions.
  • Plans & implements paint operations sequences for number of coats, drying time, curing times, etc.
  • Mix ratios, Mask, Sand, and Prepare the article for painting application.
  • Operate and maintain Spray-booth, Paint Mix equipment, including spray guns, air hose, auxiliary equipment, tools and devices.
  • Maintains painting supplies, equipment, cup systems, paper and tapes.
  • Comply with all safety and housekeeping policies.
  • Responsible for knowing, understanding, following, promoting and continuously improving company policies and procedures.
  • Use personal protective equipment.
  • Comply with hazardous material disposal procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated technical ability for painting process/projects.
  • Requires knowledge of all types of paints and thinners.
  • Must be qualified to prepare aircraft components and panels for proper application of paint, as per standards.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems.
  • Able to minimize rework through proficiency in paint preparation and application.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate multiple activities to achieve quality work within established timeframes.
  • Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to manipulate and use business and process related equipment.
  • Must be able to see to visually inspect.
  • Must have excellent hand-to-eye coordination.
  • Able to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification
  • Ability to use tools, equipment, and materials required in the painting process.
  • Must have a great attitude and team player mentality and be detailed oriented- quality and precision-focused
  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
  • Two years of related experience. Relevant experience gained in commercial/automotive refinishing is acceptable.

General Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
  • FAA Drug Testing.
  • Background Check.
