Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer III to join our team at ONICON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and validation of electronic systems within ONICON's instrumentation portfolio of Electromagnetic, Ultrasonic, and BTU meters. The role will focus on creating robust, manufacturable designs that meet internal quality standards as well as external regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Execute electronic design activities from concept through production release, including schematic development, SPICE simulation, PCB layout, and prototype testing.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure integrated product development.
- Support and drive efforts to design electronics that comply with industry standards
- Participate in Agile/Scrum product development cycles, including sprint planning, design reviews, and documentation updates.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of electrical design processes, tools, and best practices.
- Interact with vendors, contractors, and other engineers to design required coordinated designs
- Aid in the development of test procedures and equipment
- All other related duties as required.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement:
- Proficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent CAD tools
- Schematic Design
- PCB Layout
- Analog Circuit Analysis
- Digital Signal Processing
- Technical Leadership
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
5+ years’ experience in any of the following:
- Analog circuit design
- Hands-on development of measurement or scientific instrumentation
- Embedded systems hardware design
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience designing electronics to meet compliance with US and International standards such as CE, UL 61010, Measurement Canada, and EN1434
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments
- IPC Specialist certifications
- Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience in EMI analysis and design
